Megan McCormick

Megan McCormick’s career as an artist, instrumentalist, and producer spans eighteen years. Initially working as a songwriter at Universal Music Publishing, McCormick's talent led to a recording contract with Warner Music Group’s indie label, Rykodisk.

After spending a decade in Nashville, where she recorded and toured as a solo artist, McCormick shifted her focus to support roles as a live and session musician for notable artists, including Jenny Lewis, Allison Russell, HAERTS, and Mindy Smith. Her presence extended to television, where she appeared in five seasons of the series NASHVILLE, and she took on a significant role in the film Born in Bristol, portraying Sara Carter of The Carter Family.

In recent years, McCormick has expanded her contributions to the music industry by producing albums for other artists and co-founding Are and Be Recordings with partner, Amanda Fields. She has also released solo and collaborative recordings, including 2023’s Are and Be, namesake of the label/artist collective. Notably, Megan served as a Music Director for concerts such as Love Rising, a fundraising event for the LGBTQIA,+ community in Tennessee, created by Allison Russell. Her artistic achievements have been recognized through a nomination for Instrumentalist of the Year from the Americana Music Association and a Grammy win for the album, The Returner, by Allison Russell.
